Justin’s Scuba Time’s PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed to build confidence and expand diving skills through deep, navigation, and adventure dives. What sets Justin’s Scuba Time’s Advanced apart is that PADI Dive Against Debris is included in the price, allowing students to take part in a PADI citizen science conservation dive while completing their Advanced training. Divers graduate as more skilled, confident, and environmentally responsible divers.

Justin’s Scuba Time’s Advanced Open Water Diver
The Advanced Open Water Diver course at Justin’s Scuba Time is designed to help you increase your confidence and build upon your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable and capable in the water. This course is an excellent way to gain experience, log more dives, and continue learning under the supervision of a PADI Instructor.
Justin’s Scuba Time’s Advanced builds on what you learned during your Open Water certification and introduces new environments, new activities, and new ways to enjoy scuba diving. Divers develop improved awareness, dive planning skills, and real-world experience while continuing their underwater education in a fun, structured setting.
What makes Justin’s Scuba Time’s Advanced unique is that Dive Against Debris is included in the price and completed as part of the required Adventure Dives. No extra dives are required to earn the Dive Against Debris certification. Students actively participate in a PADI conservation-focused, citizen science dive while fulfilling Advanced Open Water course requirements.
What You’ll Do
You’ll refine your skills by completing five Adventure Dives, which include:

Underwater Navigation
-
Deep Diving (typically between 60–100 feet)
-
Dive Against Debris (included in the price and completed as one of your required Adventure Dives — no additional dives required)

Two additional Adventure Dives of your choice
The Fun Part: Your Choice
One of the best parts of the Advanced Open Water Diver course is the flexibility. You and your instructor can choose from over 15 different Adventure Dives to customize your experience based on interests, conditions, and goals. Options may include:

Night Diving

Wreck Diving
-
Peak Performance Buoyancy

Search and Recovery
-
Digital Underwater Photography
-
And many more
This allows you to explore new types of diving while continuing to develop core skills.
Prerequisites
To enroll in Justin’s Scuba Time’s Advanced Open Water Diver course, you must be:

A PADI Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another recognized training organization)

15 years old, or 12 years old for the Junior Advanced Open Water Diver certification
What You Learn
The knowledge and skills you gain vary depending on the Adventure Dives you select, but typically include:

Practical techniques for deep diving

Physiological effects of deeper scuba diving

Advanced use of an underwater compass

Navigation using kick cycles, time, and visual references

Environmental awareness and responsible diving practices through Dive Against Debris

And much more, based on your chosen Adventure Dives
The Scuba Gear You Use
You’ll use standard scuba equipment, including an underwater compass. Depending on your selected Adventure Dives, you may also be introduced to specialty equipment such as:

Surface marker buoys or dive flags

Other specialty tools related to your Adventure Dives
Learning Materials
You’ll use PADI’s Adventures in Diving Manual, which covers more than 15 types of specialty diving and serves as your guide to preparing for each Adventure Dive and expanding your scuba knowledge.
